What happens after the free intro call?

If it feels like a good fit, you book your first paid session for $55 and we'll send you a short form to fill in beforehand. If it's not the right fit, there's no obligation — you simply don't book again.

Do I need a chess.com or lichess account?

Yes — sessions are built from your own recent games, not puzzles from a book. If you don't have an account yet, we'll help you set one up before your first session.

What's your cancellation policy?

You can reschedule a paid session for free with at least 24 hours' notice. Cancel more than 24 hours out and you'll get a full refund. See our full cancellation & refund policy for details.

Are sessions online or in person?

Both. Online sessions run over video call from anywhere; in-person sessions are available around Perth depending on coach availability.

Do you coach junior players?

Yes, regularly — a large share of players under 1400 are juniors. Parents are welcome to sit in on sessions, especially for younger or newer players.

How quickly will my rating actually improve?

Our target for every player under 1400 is +100 rating points within six weeks. That's built on weekly sessions, a written plan made from your own games, and honest feedback on what's actually costing you points each game. Improvement isn't perfectly linear — some weeks move faster than others — but most players see real movement well within six weeks of starting weekly sessions.

What happens if I don't gain 100 points in six weeks?

Most players who attend every week and put in the practice between sessions see meaningful movement well inside six weeks. If yours is slower, we sit down, look at what's working and what isn't, and adjust the plan. Six weeks is the target we coach toward, not a fixed program length — coaching continues for as long as you keep booking sessions.
